Dave died, unexpectedly, on Monday 22nd February 2021. 

Dave was married to Mandy, a “parental-style unit” to Beth and Hannah and affectionately called “Grandave" by Theo and Artie . He was also very proud of his five nephews - Howard, Huw, Gareth, Matthew and Michael.

Dave worked for nearly 40 years in the NHS. He was an avid musician and belonged to several bands in his lifetime - even making a radio debut on John Peel's show. He also dedicated much of his life to historical re-enactment in The Sealed Knot where he volunteered as Member of Board of Directors, an event organiser and as a member of the Musket Inspectorate. He also worked with the Samaritans for a time and through this helped many people in need.

Due to the current restrictions, the funeral will be small and by invitation only. Instead of flowers, we will be raising money for Grassroots in Dave’s memory. Grassroots is a charity Dave volunteered with in Cardiff and offers positive and creative opportunities for young people aged 16-25 in music and the arts. 

We will have a celebration of his life later in the year when it is safe to do so and we hope you will join us.
